"Euromed Green Building: A Strategic partnership for a greener construction sector" aimed to foster the relationship between the construction sector stakeholders in the Mediterranean region.
The B2B meetings took place on the 13th May, where 68 companies from the south Mediterranean countries met north Mediterranean ones, in order to exchange information about their products, possible future cooperation agreements and information exchange. The companies present from Europe were mainly from Portugal and Spain, and those coming from the South Mediterranean rim from Algeria and Egypt.
The development of possible cooperation agreements and the high number of contacts between the meeting companies represented a central point in this initiative. These companies represented the construction sector in a wide range of sectors: consultancy, import/export, production/manufacturing, innovation, among others, that carried out important contacts with European companies and developed possible cooperation/business agreements which are in the right direction for future contracts and exchange of products.

The Invest in Med programme aims at developing sustainable trade relationships, investments and enterprise partnerships between the two rims of the Mediterranean. Funded at 75% by the European Union over the 2008-2011 period, it is implemented by the MedAlliance consortium, which associates economic development organisations (ANIMA, leader of the programme), CCIs (ASCAME, EUROCHAMBRES), and business federations (BUSINESSMED). The members of these networks, as well as their special partners (UNIDO, GTZ, EPA Euroméditerranée, World Bank, etc.), gather a thousand of economic actors - mobilised through pilot initiatives centered on key Mediterranean promising niches. Each year, a hundred operations associate the 27 countries of the European Union and 9 Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia. www.invest-in-med.eu
