16th International Conference and Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas
Algeria enjoys a proud history with the International Conference and Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas having already hosted LNG 4, in 1974 in Algiers. In 2010, LNG 16 will be conducted in Oran, Algeria’s second largest city. Oran also services the nearby LNG facilities at Arzew, allowing easy access for the conference program’s technical visits, which form an integral part of the LNG 16 event. The new Oran Convention Center has been designed to accommodate the specific needs of the LNG 16 event. Key features include a 3,000 seat auditorium, two 500 seat breakout rooms and twenty meeting rooms. The exhibition hall provides 20,000 square metres of exhibition space and there are dining facilities to accommodate 2,000+ delegates. A 300 room five star hotel is also incorporated into the project.Sectors

The Invest in Med programme aims at developing sustainable trade relationships, investments and enterprise partnerships between the two rims of the Mediterranean. Funded at 75% by the European Union over the 2008-2011 period, it is implemented by the MedAlliance consortium, which associates economic development organisations (ANIMA, leader of the programme), CCIs (ASCAME, EUROCHAMBRES), and business federations (BUSINESSMED). The members of these networks, as well as their special partners (UNIDO, GTZ, EPA Euroméditerranée, World Bank, etc.), gather a thousand of economic actors - mobilised through pilot initiatives centered on key Mediterranean promising niches. Each year, a hundred operations associate the 27 countries of the European Union and 9 Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia. www.invest-in-med.eu
