Between April and June 2010, the Chamber of commerce of Valencia has organised 2 staff exchanges meetings with the Chamber of Commerce of Casablanca, in the framework of the Agroalimed initiative. The main objective of these two staff exchanges was to establish and strengthen relationships between the two organisations in order to promote future collaboration in common fields of interest, such as for example, logistics, energy efficiency, textile multi-location, general subcontracting or agrifood. In this context, Ms Pepa Miravet (Market Analyst and Chamber of Valencia representative in Morocco) has spent few days (from 26 to 30 April) in the Chamber of Casablanca to meet with counterparts, discuss collaborations and assist in preparing the Agroalimed BtoB and training programmes to be held on September 2010 during the CFIA fair of Casablanca. Mr Ahmed Messaoudi (Head of International Relations of the Chamber of Casablanca) has later spent 4 days in the CCI of Valencia and has taken advantage of his presence to know more about the specificities and programmes of the institution, and meet with several representatives from the different organisation and departments (such as the Transports of the Regional Government of Valencia organisation, the ITENE (Packaging, Transports and Logistic Technological Institute), focused on ICT Department and Logistics and Transport Department; the CCI training department, the CCI Documentation Department, the CCI International Promotion Department and the International Cooperation Department). As a result of the meetings, the CCI of Casablanca has contributed in the organisation of a B2B (19 enterprises) and a workshop (60 attendants) on logistic issues. Moreover, both organisations agreed on collaborating on the organisation of a business meeting event for transport and logistics companies to be held in Casablanca in 2011. An informal agreement with regards to the diffusion of offers and demands of cooperation opportunities has also been reached across electronic bulletins of both Chambers. Last, both Chambers decided to better collaborate in future calls for proposals and initiatives that can be launched in Med or any other common space. Partners

The Invest in Med programme aims at developing sustainable trade relationships, investments and enterprise partnerships between the two rims of the Mediterranean. Funded at 75% by the European Union over the 2008-2011 period, it is implemented by the MedAlliance consortium, which associates economic development organisations (ANIMA, leader of the programme), CCIs (ASCAME, EUROCHAMBRES), and business federations (BUSINESSMED). The members of these networks, as well as their special partners (UNIDO, GTZ, EPA Euroméditerranée, World Bank, etc.), gather a thousand of economic actors - mobilised through pilot initiatives centered on key Mediterranean promising niches. Each year, a hundred operations associate the 27 countries of the European Union and 9 Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia. www.invest-in-med.eu
