The Training for trainers implemented with the aim of enforce the capacity building of the involved partners (staff of the Med partner organizations) and other representative of MED Alliance networks (especially from the other 6 Med Countries). Taking the experience of the previous operations (Technical Assistance and Short term missions), the brief course demonstrated that modern teaching methods help in acquiring new skills and methods for the promotion of clustering among logistics SMEs and innovative management processes/techniques. A purpose of the Training activity was to stimulate a multiplier effect in order to replicate the trainings and pass the experience to others organizations of MED Alliance networks. The commitment to replicate the course had been one of the requirements to select the Applicants. Furthermore, the replication of the Training for trainers had been assured by the inclusion of this activity in the project proposal to be elaborated and presented under ENPI CBC MED next calls. During the days, some Egyptian SMEs had been invited operating in Port Said in order to share needs and experiences. The Training Course organized and managed by GAFI - General Authority of Investment in Egypt. GAFI had been supported by CSPI Cagliari (experts from CIREM- CRIIM University of Cagliari) and an associated partner (to be selected) for the involvement of experts and teachers. The course was divided in two main units and as regards the subjects, among the others: 1. Techniques and methodologies of training: - Effective communication - Trainer's role and responsibility - Methods of training - Evaluation training - Organizing and managing a training course 2. Technical modules: - Calibration and definition of the distribution network - Organization of logistic systems and transportation per chain product - Technological system to support the traceability chain (e.g. RFID) - Innovative ICT for the management of port logistic SMEs and platforms - New markets North-South and South-South - 2010 Euro-Mediterranean Free Trade Zone: the port logistic market - Promotional strategies for SMEs and clusters Beneficiaries : The direct beneficiaries of the Training for trainers are Med partners staff (GAFI, CC Tunis and CEEBA) as well as other representative from MED Alliance networks. Indirect beneficiaries had been the key-players operating in the field of port logistics services (SMEs, other stakeholders) that may exploit this improvement of skills and experiences. Partners

The Invest in Med programme aims at developing sustainable trade relationships, investments and enterprise partnerships between the two rims of the Mediterranean. Funded at 75% by the European Union over the 2008-2011 period, it is implemented by the MedAlliance consortium, which associates economic development organisations (ANIMA, leader of the programme), CCIs (ASCAME, EUROCHAMBRES), and business federations (BUSINESSMED). The members of these networks, as well as their special partners (UNIDO, GTZ, EPA Euroméditerranée, World Bank, etc.), gather a thousand of economic actors - mobilised through pilot initiatives centered on key Mediterranean promising niches. Each year, a hundred operations associate the 27 countries of the European Union and 9 Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia. www.invest-in-med.eu
