On Oct 5th and 6th in Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry took place internet marketing seminar with the participation of consultants of business organizations, chambers of commerce and e-services consulting companies from Mediterranean countries. The seminar was organized by the Estonian Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Syrian Chamber of Commerce.
The training presented an overview of the countries of Morocco, Lebanon and Syria infrastructure, internet usage, internet development and public support for internet marketing opportunities so far. The study in previously mentioned countries was carried out by a consultant Carles Revilla, who also presented the results to the listeners. The main focus of the seminar was on internet marketing tools and the sessions were held by Spanish internet marketing consultant Montse Peñarroya. During the two-days seminar Mrs.  Peñarroya introduced the details of internet marketing, search engine principles, e-mail marketing, online branding possibilities etc.
The practical workshop-presentation was also given by Mr Robin Gurney (from Altex Marketing in Estonia) – consultant with international experience. Mr. Gurney also shared his experience in operating in different European countries and gave his best suggestions one should remember when promoting export in particular country via internet solutions.
Mr Siim Raie, Director General of Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presented an overview of the Estonian economy and the success story of the Estonian e-services (ID-card, e-governance, digital signature, etc.) the presentation that brought up many questions and interested feedback from the audience

The Invest in Med programme aims at developing sustainable trade relationships, investments and enterprise partnerships between the two rims of the Mediterranean. Funded at 75% by the European Union over the 2008-2011 period, it is implemented by the MedAlliance consortium, which associates economic development organisations (ANIMA, leader of the programme), CCIs (ASCAME, EUROCHAMBRES), and business federations (BUSINESSMED). The members of these networks, as well as their special partners (UNIDO, GTZ, EPA Euroméditerranée, World Bank, etc.), gather a thousand of economic actors - mobilised through pilot initiatives centered on key Mediterranean promising niches. Each year, a hundred operations associate the 27 countries of the European Union and 9 Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia. www.invest-in-med.eu
