To promote commercial trade and investment between EU and Northern Africa SMEs involved in AgroFood sector, Chambers of Commerce of Valencia and Casablanca collaborated on the organization of an international business to business event. B2B were initially planned to be held in the Chamber of Commerce of Casablanca premises and a visit to CFIA fair (Carrefour des Fournisseurs de l’Industrie Agroalimentaire) was organised for the participants. 18 Moroccan companies and 7 European companies participated in the BtoB meeting organised. An an average of four meetings were held per EU company, and 50% of these were estimated promising by the participating companies. The participating enterprises were all active the agrifood sector and more specifically in the following subsectors: § Seed production and growing techniques § Packing, packaging and storage § Agro industrial technology § Ice-cream production Partners

The Invest in Med programme aims at developing sustainable trade relationships, investments and enterprise partnerships between the two rims of the Mediterranean. Funded at 75% by the European Union over the 2008-2011 period, it is implemented by the MedAlliance consortium, which associates economic development organisations (ANIMA, leader of the programme), CCIs (ASCAME, EUROCHAMBRES), and business federations (BUSINESSMED). The members of these networks, as well as their special partners (UNIDO, GTZ, EPA Euroméditerranée, World Bank, etc.), gather a thousand of economic actors - mobilised through pilot initiatives centered on key Mediterranean promising niches. Each year, a hundred operations associate the 27 countries of the European Union and 9 Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia. www.invest-in-med.eu
