BtoB meetings for SMEs

Tunisia, Tunis,
From 06-11-2009 to 06-12-2009

Marseille Innovation and the Elgazala Pole of Communication Technologies have received more than 300 people on June 11th & 12th for the second stage of the "RoadShow e-3M 2009": the 7th ICT, Telecom & Multimédia French-Maghrebi Business Meetings "e-3M Tunis'2009".

Organized as a part of the "Invest In Med" European programme, and with the support of UbiFrance's label, this event has enabled 26 French, Algerian and Moroccan companies to meet hundreds of Tunisian ICT actors to negotiate business partnerships thanks to BtoB meetings (at least 10 per company) set up by Marseille Innovation, in collaboration with KPMG Tunisia. The delegation's companies have been able to discover the Tunisian business environment, start negotiations with major actors of the Tunisian ICT field (including the Ministry of Communication Technologies itself), and initiate business flows with their delegation's counterparts.

During this event, lectures about Information Systems and company management have been organized. Many speakers have contributed to the success of these workshops: Madam Lamia Chaffai Sghaier, Secretary of State of informatics, Internet and open source software, Madam Aïcha Ennaifar, General Director of the Elgazala Pole, Professor Tawfik Jelassi, dean of the "School of International Management de l'Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, Paris", and many other corporate managers and major actors of the Tunisian ICT field.

Many national Medias were covering the event, among which the national television channel Canal Tunis, and the French-speaking radio RTCI. Some national newspapers (TAP Agency, "Le Renouveau"...) have reinforced the national media coverage.

The Invest in Med programme aims at developing sustainable trade relationships, investments and enterprise partnerships between the two rims of the Mediterranean. Funded at 75% by the European Union over the 2008-2011 period, it is implemented by the MedAlliance consortium, which associates economic development organisations (ANIMA, leader of the programme), CCIs (ASCAME, EUROCHAMBRES), and business federations (BUSINESSMED). The members of these networks, as well as their special partners (UNIDO, GTZ, EPA Euroméditerranée, World Bank, etc.), gather a thousand of economic actors - mobilised through pilot initiatives centered on key Mediterranean promising niches. Each year, a hundred operations associate the 27 countries of the European Union and 9 Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia. www.invest-in-med.eu
