Workshop

Tunisia, Tunis,
From 02-25-2010 to 02-25-2010

The Tunisians and their German partners have organised in Tunis on February 25 an informational session specifically dedicated to Tunisian companies and aimed at to familiarising them with work-study programme system and convincing them of its success. More than 130 participants from both the private and public sectors attended the session and had a chance to learn about the features of this specific training system.

In order to facilitate the coordination and transfer of dual vocational training knowledge to UTICA members, UTICA created a position within the organisation to support its members wishing to adopt the dual training system: M. Abdealziz Halleb, vice-president of the employers´ association of the electrical and electronic industries (FEDELEC) and member of UTICA, has been tasked with the responsibility for running the program.

In addition, the German partners continue to offer technical assistance and recommendations to UTICA to help it create an efficient platform and infrastructure to improve its training system for companies wishing to adopt dual vocational training programme (e. g. help in publishing informational brochures about the dual vocational training system or to create a trainer program).

The Invest in Med programme aims at developing sustainable trade relationships, investments and enterprise partnerships between the two rims of the Mediterranean. Funded at 75% by the European Union over the 2008-2011 period, it is implemented by the MedAlliance consortium, which associates economic development organisations (ANIMA, leader of the programme), CCIs (ASCAME, EUROCHAMBRES), and business federations (BUSINESSMED). The members of these networks, as well as their special partners (UNIDO, GTZ, EPA Euroméditerranée, World Bank, etc.), gather a thousand of economic actors - mobilised through pilot initiatives centered on key Mediterranean promising niches. Each year, a hundred operations associate the 27 countries of the European Union and 9 Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia. www.invest-in-med.eu
