Thematic FDI workshops

A workshop on the thematic “dare to go on the international market” was organised in the framework of the Moroccan CJD (Centre des jeunes dirigeants) symposium. This workshop included:

1) the organisation of information roundtables on networking, investment opportunities in the Maghreb and intrenationalisation of SMEs,

2) the implementation of speed dating meetings between young entrepreneurs Morocco, Tunisia, Belgium, France and Spain (50 participants)

3) A session dedicated to the presentation of entrepreneurs project in front of other entrepreneurs, and organisations specialised in the support to SMEs.

Following this workshop, a Belgium company started administrative procedures to open a subsidiary in Morocco and another Belgium company got six partnership possibilities to develop its product in the Maghreb. A Tunisian entrepreneur created good contact with French partners. On the institutional level, the creation of a CJD Lybia was announced and a partnership agreement for the creation of a joint BtoB plateform between morocco and Tunisia was signed.

The Invest in Med programme aims at developing sustainable trade relationships, investments and enterprise partnerships between the two rims of the Mediterranean. Funded at 75% by the European Union over the 2008-2011 period, it is implemented by the MedAlliance consortium, which associates economic development organisations (ANIMA, leader of the programme), CCIs (ASCAME, EUROCHAMBRES), and business federations (BUSINESSMED). The members of these networks, as well as their special partners (UNIDO, GTZ, EPA Euroméditerranée, World Bank, etc.), gather a thousand of economic actors - mobilised through pilot initiatives centered on key Mediterranean promising niches. Each year, a hundred operations associate the 27 countries of the European Union and 9 Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia. www.invest-in-med.eu
