 Business meetings had been organized during the 2009 Med IT Algiers. The three exhibition halls and the Patio of the Palace of Culture hosted over 4000 m2, with 150 exhibitors: telecom operators, Internet service providers, software vendors, hardware providers, equipment manufacturers, call centers, SSII and integrators. The majority  were Algerian companies (60%), 30% of French companies, 10% of Moroccan companies and 10% of Tunisian companies. 4932 Professional Visitors The exhibition was aimed at IT professionals, policy makers and directions of information systems of large companies, SMEs and government. 3,000 visitors were expected, the fair attracted 4,932 visitors last (in 2292 against the previous edition). Lounge access was free but for professionals.

Business meetings in the ITC aimed to increase cooperation and transactions between ITC professionals of the mediterranean countries :

- expectations and needs clearly identified

- skills, products and innovating services, corresponding to the expectations of the IT Market

- Targeted meetings in order to conclude businesses ou partnerships

- a very strong press and medias campaign

- high return on investment

The Invest in Med programme aims at developing sustainable trade relationships, investments and enterprise partnerships between the two rims of the Mediterranean. Funded at 75% by the European Union over the 2008-2011 period, it is implemented by the MedAlliance consortium, which associates economic development organisations (ANIMA, leader of the programme), CCIs (ASCAME, EUROCHAMBRES), and business federations (BUSINESSMED). The members of these networks, as well as their special partners (UNIDO, GTZ, EPA Euroméditerranée, World Bank, etc.), gather a thousand of economic actors - mobilised through pilot initiatives centered on key Mediterranean promising niches. Each year, a hundred operations associate the 27 countries of the European Union and 9 Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia. www.invest-in-med.eu
