Drafting of the document of recommendations “ How to meet the needs for the users and with which products ” from the analyses and syntheses of the data collected at the time of operations 2, 3 and 4 (analyzes of needs and expectations of the users, analyzes of the existing partial technological solutions).

The “Med-Tracking System” report specified the expression of the needs and the expectations of the market. It took into account as a main necessity a secure  maritime freight transport,  the reduction of the risks during the transport of the sensitive products and the environmental protection. It finalised an approach of the freight transport in terms of sustainable development.

This document presented a roadmap: It gave the recommendations for the concretisation of the system on the basis of existing product and specify the possible necessary innovations with implication of the research laboratories. It took into account the “costs” of the product so to ensure the awaited development.

This report carried the ambition for the Euro-Mediterranean zone to be identified on the international scene as the  leader and the reference for the secure transport of the containers.

The Invest in Med programme aims at developing sustainable trade relationships, investments and enterprise partnerships between the two rims of the Mediterranean. Funded at 75% by the European Union over the 2008-2011 period, it is implemented by the MedAlliance consortium, which associates economic development organisations (ANIMA, leader of the programme), CCIs (ASCAME, EUROCHAMBRES), and business federations (BUSINESSMED). The members of these networks, as well as their special partners (UNIDO, GTZ, EPA Euroméditerranée, World Bank, etc.), gather a thousand of economic actors - mobilised through pilot initiatives centered on key Mediterranean promising niches. Each year, a hundred operations associate the 27 countries of the European Union and 9 Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia. www.invest-in-med.eu
