A questionnaire is used so to identify the waiting of the largest number of end-users connected to the transport of containers.

Classically a local workshop raises the questions which appear essential for the success of the Med-Tracking initiative: which are the specific and exhaustive needs for the end-users, which is the state of the art and which solutions would be necessary to implement for a better safety for the freight transport sector in the Mediterranean by 2010-2013?
This workshop is organised for the benefit of the end-users and is aimed at identifying the appropriateness and contours a new offer of service related to the follow-up of the containers during all the logistic chain (sea, rail, road, etc.) from the first loading of the container until its unloading at its point of delivery.

It concerns themes linked to the economics of the transport in the Mediterranean with exchanges in point of view and experience feedbacks regarding possible uses of Med-Tracking. It finalises the list of the stakeholders and key actors of the transport in the Mediterranean (sea, rail road, ship-owners, companies using the maritime transport, insurers, organizers of transport - import/export, forwarding agents, companies of logistics, communities harbor, authorities of regulation, etc.)

If you are concerned with the transport of containers and if you wish to discuss with responsibles of this initiative, please contact:

The Invest in Med programme aims at developing sustainable trade relationships, investments and enterprise partnerships between the two rims of the Mediterranean. Funded at 75% by the European Union over the 2008-2011 period, it is implemented by the MedAlliance consortium, which associates economic development organisations (ANIMA, leader of the programme), CCIs (ASCAME, EUROCHAMBRES), and business federations (BUSINESSMED). The members of these networks, as well as their special partners (UNIDO, GTZ, EPA Euroméditerranée, World Bank, etc.), gather a thousand of economic actors - mobilised through pilot initiatives centered on key Mediterranean promising niches. Each year, a hundred operations associate the 27 countries of the European Union and 9 Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia. www.invest-in-med.eu
