A two days workshop was organized in Cairo presenting a host of financial instruments inclusive grants and lines of credit offered by EC, EU member states, bilateral and multilateral agencies as well as institutions offering novel non-banking financial instruments to the Mediterranean region.
The Event brought leading speakers from such institutions inclusive the 1st vice presidents of EIB, KfW and AFD besides a host of senior representatives of aid and development organizations of EC, Netherlands, Italy, WB, USA, ..etc as well as examples of novel non-banking financial instruments.
Moreover, the comprehensive survey on available grants and lines of credit offered to the Meda Countries was presented as well as the Invest in Med Programme.
The event was inaugurated by the Minister of Trade and Industry on behalf of Prime Minister of Egypt, the EU ambassador, and chairs of all partner organizations. It was closed by the Ambassador of the EU presidency.
Over 250 instruments with an existing pipeline of $22 billion swaying from pure grants and technical assistance, to subsidized lines of credit, from venture capital to leasing, to investment funds. The what, how and where to make use of them.
The 250 instruments are offered by 113 sources inclusive 43 offered to the  whole Mediterranean region and  70 to  individual countries: namely, Algeria 6; Egypt 35; Israel 4; Jordan 6, Lebanon 5, Morocco 10, Syria 4, Tunis 14
400 CDs withot cover inclusive pictures and press releases for media were done every day as well as some with presentations for requesting participants. This was done on site. The study was also put on these CDs.
