Prefabrication and Modular Construction 2010

BtoB / exhibition / fair

United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi,
From 10-31-2010 to 11-03-2010

Prefabricated systems and modular construction has been employed in the region for over 10 years and is increasing in popularity.

Prefabrication is the term given to parts of a building or development which are constructed offsite and transported to the site. Modular construction refers to the method of construction which involves building by sections.

With an increasing amount of developers and contractors using the prefabrication and modular construction techniques, they have learned that the benefits of using this techniques are the lower construction cost, the speed of construction and the precision of work. However, main challenges for any form of prefabrication and modular construction center around the transportation of materials, including precast concrete and steel panels, prefabricated trusses and pods, and the incorporation of those elements onsite.

The Prefabrication and Modular Construction 2010 summit is a dedicated platform for construction professionals in the Middle East.

Join industry experts and be able to share knowledge, educate, benchmark, network, build and cement business relationships with your industry peers.

Targets & objectives
The Invest in Med programme aims at developing sustainable trade relationships, investments and enterprise partnerships between the two rims of the Mediterranean. Funded at 75% by the European Union over the 2008-2011 period, it is implemented by the MedAlliance consortium, which associates economic development organisations (ANIMA, leader of the programme), CCIs (ASCAME, EUROCHAMBRES), and business federations (BUSINESSMED). The members of these networks, as well as their special partners (UNIDO, GTZ, EPA Euroméditerranée, World Bank, etc.), gather a thousand of economic actors - mobilised through pilot initiatives centered on key Mediterranean promising niches. Each year, a hundred operations associate the 27 countries of the European Union and 9 Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia. www.invest-in-med.eu
