Sun for Med-Sustainability Final Workshop. Atelier final

Operation supported by Invest in Med

Workshop

Israel, Eilat,
From 02-21-2011 to 02-23-2011

A final workshop had been held in the fringes of the International Renewable Energy Conference in Eilat (Israel) in February to share the initiative results, present best practice cases and draw lessons from these experiences together with an audience consisting of representatives from the industry, investors, experts, entrepreneurs, companies, etc. In this regard, the workshop will offer a platform to further exchange ideas for future directions on the promotion of Renewable Energies in the region. In addition, the organisation of a presentation on greenhouse market development had been organised.

The direct beneficiaries of this operation were the Initiative partners that had the opportunity to take part in the International Renewable Energy Conference in Eilat, not only participating in the workshop, but in the seminars and conferences held. In addition, the public and audience of the International Conference beneficiaries since they learnt upon the initiative actions and results and further collaboration emerged from these contacts.

Program (Previsional)

The Invest in Med programme aims at developing sustainable trade relationships, investments and enterprise partnerships between the two rims of the Mediterranean. Funded at 75% by the European Union over the 2008-2011 period, it is implemented by the MedAlliance consortium, which associates economic development organisations (ANIMA, leader of the programme), CCIs (ASCAME, EUROCHAMBRES), and business federations (BUSINESSMED). The members of these networks, as well as their special partners (UNIDO, GTZ, EPA Euroméditerranée, World Bank, etc.), gather a thousand of economic actors - mobilised through pilot initiatives centered on key Mediterranean promising niches. Each year, a hundred operations associate the 27 countries of the European Union and 9 Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia. www.invest-in-med.eu
