TEXTECH Med: Business match-making event in technical textile sector
In the framework of Invest in Med programme and cooperation with TEXMED 2010 (http://www.texmed-tunisia.com), TEXTECH Med project successfully organized multi-actor match-making event in the technical textile sector. This event took place the 16 – 17th June 2010 in Tunis and attracted stakeholders from Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Syria, Italia, France, Portugal, Belgium, .. representing different communities of SMEs, large companies, research & universities and business support structures. More than 360 professional meetings took place in BtoB spaces or on the stands of exhibitors of TEXMED salon. Positive and fruitful contacts has been done by companies and support organizations: ICOMA (Morocco) and Lectra (France-Tunisia), Fitor and MALHAS CARJOR SA (Portugal) ; BENDATIS (Morocco) and PELLETTERIA V.G.(Italia), CETTEX (Tunisia) and Arab Federation of Textile Industries, etc.
The 18th June 2010, TEXTECH Med team in cooperation with TEXMED organizers and MFC pole (Tunisia) organized a breakfast workshop dedicated to technical textile and innovation in the Euro-Mediterranean region. Following organizations and companies has participated as honor guests – CETTEX (Tunisia), AMITH and ESITH (Morocco), TECHTERA (France), Arab federation of textile industries (Egypt), Chamber of Commerce and Industrie of Aleppo (Syria) and CCI of Milano (Italia) and Lectra (France - Tunisia). The participants discussed the Mediterranean challenges of the technical textile and proposed initiatives and support measures to enforce the efficient transition from traditional textile to technical applications of MED companies. The Invest in Med programme aims at developing sustainable trade relationships, investments and enterprise partnerships between the two rims of the Mediterranean. Funded at 75% by the European Union over the 2008-2011 period, it is implemented by the MedAlliance consortium, which associates economic development organisations (ANIMA, leader of the programme), CCIs (ASCAME, EUROCHAMBRES), and business federations (BUSINESSMED). The members of these networks, as well as their special partners (UNIDO, GTZ, EPA Euroméditerranée, World Bank, etc.), gather a thousand of economic actors - mobilised through pilot initiatives centered on key Mediterranean promising niches. Each year, a hundred operations associate the 27 countries of the European Union and 9 Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia.
