The Mediterranean, honor guest at the Book Festival

Since its begining, this literary appointment, now unmistakable, is enrolled in a full Mediterranean dimension.

Three days of events:
A round table on "Problems of Publishing in the Mediterranean" in partnership with the Regional Agency of the Book and RSF, and with the participation of publishers from Algeria, Lebanon, Tunisia and Italy.

A lecture by Jean-Luc Bonilo (architect and director of the INAMA) on "The architecture of the 20th century in the Var" around the eponymous book commissioned by the General Council (Imbernon editions), in partnership with the laboratory INAMA School of Architecture of Marseille.

A roundtable on the theme "Current literature in the Mediterranean" with the participation of writers around the Mediterranean and different Mediterranean publishers invited by the Festival of the Book.

A round table of experts about different "Geopolitics and religions in the Mediterranean".

A round table "City of Art in the Mediterranean" evoking a symbolic city of the Mediterranean: Venice.

Targets & objectives
The Invest in Med programme aims at developing sustainable trade relationships, investments and enterprise partnerships between the two rims of the Mediterranean. Funded at 75% by the European Union over the 2008-2011 period, it is implemented by the MedAlliance consortium, which associates economic development organisations (ANIMA, leader of the programme), CCIs (ASCAME, EUROCHAMBRES), and business federations (BUSINESSMED). The members of these networks, as well as their special partners (UNIDO, GTZ, EPA Euroméditerranée, World Bank, etc.), gather a thousand of economic actors - mobilised through pilot initiatives centered on key Mediterranean promising niches. Each year, a hundred operations associate the 27 countries of the European Union and 9 Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia. www.invest-in-med.eu
