Technical assistance missions

Mediterranean, Tunis-Marseille-Lyon-Casablanca,
From 09-01-2009 to 06-30-2010

Operation 5 relates to technical assistance for the deployment of Mediterranean spinneret value chain. It will be held between the kick off project and the second meeting “RtoB, BtoB, BtoI” in June 2010, in Tunis. It will consist of a one to one approach with textile clusters in order to map more than 200 actors. This work will enable to highlight the potential connections and emerging partnership dynamics.
Project consortium will also work of pre-feasibility study of implementation of mutualised prototyping and value added service’ centre which will work on 5 points:
•    Technical services: small & medium series prototyping,  local and international certification
•     Support Services : internationalisation support, import/export support , business development support (diversification to technical applications for example), positioning and marketing studies, partnership making strategy, etc.
•    Education and training : professional education (for SMEs and corporate) & awareness training for traditional textile actors; Initial education - development of technical textile modules for initial training.
The TEXTECHMED team set up a web support tool allowing Euromed experts to exchange information and implement collaborative work; This tool was set up in order to facilitate the interaction betweeb the experts of the EuroMed technical textile network.

The Invest in Med programme aims at developing sustainable trade relationships, investments and enterprise partnerships between the two rims of the Mediterranean. Funded at 75% by the European Union over the 2008-2011 period, it is implemented by the MedAlliance consortium, which associates economic development organisations (ANIMA, leader of the programme), CCIs (ASCAME, EUROCHAMBRES), and business federations (BUSINESSMED). The members of these networks, as well as their special partners (UNIDO, GTZ, EPA Euroméditerranée, World Bank, etc.), gather a thousand of economic actors - mobilised through pilot initiatives centered on key Mediterranean promising niches. Each year, a hundred operations associate the 27 countries of the European Union and 9 Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia. www.invest-in-med.eu
