TEXTECHMed and la Cité Euro-méditerranéenne de la Mode have organized a workshop held in Marseille the 8th October 2010 dedicated to the technical textile in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
Here are the major results of this workshop which allowed generating some tangible results and further cooperation opportunities:
· More than 50 actors participated in the workshop (at least 23 companies, 4echnoparks, 2 professional associations and other actors of technical textile in the Mediterranean ) who at the end of the workshop became: o aware of the value Chain sector representation of technical textile o trained to use the TextechMed platform and methods to set us the cross sector partnerships proposed · All the participants explain their will to participate in mapping of actors and participate in future relation making sessions · European clusters TECHTERRA (TECHnical TExtiles Rhône-Alpes), UpTex (Lille) and Clubtex confirmed their will to cooperate with the project · In the same way Medibtikar textile network also confirmed their will and readiness to contribute to Textechmed and extend it to Mashreq zone · Some investors have claimed their interest to the project relationship making sessions. · Partners and participants have discussed about some future project which could be proposed in the framework of the European Commission programmes: 7th FP (one project proposal – result of the workshop is under evaluation now), Tempus, etc. · Important participation of private actors and industrials during the workshop allowed efficient networking between European and Mediterranean corporate companies like Rhodia Fibres, Armorlux, Sartex, Workman. They confirmed their will to participate in project activities and become members of the expert’s community. |
The Invest in Med programme aims at developing sustainable trade relationships, investments and enterprise partnerships between the two rims of the Mediterranean. Funded at 75% by the European Union over the 2008-2011 period, it is implemented by the MedAlliance consortium, which associates economic development organisations (ANIMA, leader of the programme), CCIs (ASCAME, EUROCHAMBRES), and business federations (BUSINESSMED). The members of these networks, as well as their special partners (UNIDO, GTZ, EPA Euroméditerranée, World Bank, etc.), gather a thousand of economic actors - mobilised through pilot initiatives centered on key Mediterranean promising niches. Each year, a hundred operations associate the 27 countries of the European Union and 9 Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia. www.invest-in-med.eu
