Morocco, Casablanca (Maroc),
From 11-02-2010 to 11-06-2010

Following workshop and B2B meetings organised in Poland - Warsaw and Katowice - in February 2010, this workshop took place in Morocco on the 2-6 November 2010 within the BATIMED project. It was held during the International Trade Fair of Construction and Public Works SIB'2010 in Casablanca.

The Workshop focused on issues related to real estate, public works and major construction projects and  was organized by the Polish Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Casablanca Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services, the Confederation of Algerian Employers as well as the Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services in Tangier.

Visits to different professional organizations and institutions in Casablanca, Tangier /Med Tangier Harbour/ and Fes accompanied the workshop as parallel activities.

About 70 representatives of Moroccan, Algerian, Polish and Italian enterprises from the construction industry as well business organizations from these countries and experts from the EU and MED countries participated in this workshop.

The Invest in Med programme aims at developing sustainable trade relationships, investments and enterprise partnerships between the two rims of the Mediterranean. Funded at 75% by the European Union over the 2008-2011 period, it is implemented by the MedAlliance consortium, which associates economic development organisations (ANIMA, leader of the programme), CCIs (ASCAME, EUROCHAMBRES), and business federations (BUSINESSMED). The members of these networks, as well as their special partners (UNIDO, GTZ, EPA Euroméditerranée, World Bank, etc.), gather a thousand of economic actors - mobilised through pilot initiatives centered on key Mediterranean promising niches. Each year, a hundred operations associate the 27 countries of the European Union and 9 Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia. www.invest-in-med.eu
