ANIMA is preparing, within the framework of the Invest in Med, an overview of private equity in the Southern bank of the Mediterranean.

ANIMA is preparing, within the framework of the Invest in Med, an overview of private equity in the Southern bank of the Mediterranean. Conducted in partnership with Euromed Capital Forum and several private equity associations, this useful investigation will provide a benchmark of PE activities and will more specifically:
- Illustrate the fast evolution of private equity as one of the means for funding enterprises,
- Display objective data on the performances of the funds and their exits
- Highlight the contribution of private equity to the economic development on the region.
This survey should gather and analyse essential data for the development of the Private Equity profession in the region. It will also update and deepen the data of the 2008 MedFunds Observatory.
For more information on MedFunds or to participate in the survey, you can contact Ms. Manal Tabet (manal.tabet@anima.coop ).

The Invest in Med programme aims at developing sustainable trade relationships, investments and enterprise partnerships between the two rims of the Mediterranean. Funded at 75% by the European Union over the 2008-2011 period, it is implemented by the MedAlliance consortium, which associates economic development organisations (ANIMA, leader of the programme), CCIs (ASCAME, EUROCHAMBRES), and business federations (BUSINESSMED). The members of these networks, as well as their special partners (UNIDO, GTZ, EPA Euroméditerranée, World Bank, etc.), gather a thousand of economic actors - mobilised through pilot initiatives centered on key Mediterranean promising niches. Each year, a hundred operations associate the 27 countries of the European Union and 9 Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia. www.invest-in-med.eu
