Who can participate to Invest In Med?

I am looking for partners, how can I find them?

You can identify potential partners by using MedAlliance Network Directory or by submiting an idea on the Initiative idea heading.

Who can submit an initiative?

Only the registered members of the MedAlliance networks i.e. the members of ANIMA, BUSINESSMED, ASCAME and EUROCHAMBRES networks can lead initiatives or operations in the framework of Invest in Med. The initiatives or operations are implemented by members on behalf of their related Head of Network.

What is a multilateral initiative depending on Invest In Med?

The initiative should imperatively have a regional scope and include consequently at least two Med countries (Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Syria and Tunisia). These countries must participate in all  (or most of them) operations organised in order to promote south-south exchanges.
Example : An initiative which includes Spain, Italy and Algeria is not considered as a multilateral initiative. An initiative with 2 operations, one in Egypt with only egyptian participants and one in Tunisia with only tunisian participants, is not a multilateral initiative.

Can I include MedAlliance non-affiliated members or private organizations in my initiative?

Sure, you can associate MedAlliance non-affiliated members or private organizations (companies, universities, public authorities, etc) in your initiative. These actors must be considered as subcontractors and are subject to the EC procurement rules set out in standard Delegation Agreement.
However, the participants from beneficiary countries of the Invest in Med programme can be financially covered (per diem and travel costs)
Participants from non-beneficiary countries (such as employees of an EU or Turkish organisation) can participate in the operation but at its own costs.

Is it possible to be partner of more than one initiative?

Yes but it is is not possible to be leader for two initiatives in the same Call of Proposal.

The Invest in Med programme aims at developing sustainable trade relationships, investments and enterprise partnerships between the two rims of the Mediterranean. Funded at 75% by the European Union over the 2008-2011 period, it is implemented by the MedAlliance consortium, which associates economic development organisations (ANIMA, leader of the programme), CCIs (ASCAME, EUROCHAMBRES), and business federations (BUSINESSMED). The members of these networks, as well as their special partners (UNIDO, GTZ, EPA Euroméditerranée, World Bank, etc.), gather a thousand of economic actors - mobilised through pilot initiatives centered on key Mediterranean promising niches. Each year, a hundred operations associate the 27 countries of the European Union and 9 Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia. www.invest-in-med.eu
