A consortium of European business organisations launched on April 18 “Invest in Med”, a 12 million EUR project.

Professional organisations and private sector networks have come together to launch an investment programme in the Mediterranean

To encourage the European investments in the Mediterranean area, a 12 MLN euros project, "Invest in Med" and whose Algeria is signatory, was launched on April 18 2008 in Brussels.

An Algerian delegation was present Friday in Brussels during the ceremony the agreement signature of this project which will be co-financed by the European Commission, up to 9 million euros; it also aims at "developing solid bonds between the companies of two rims of the Mediterranean".

The consortium of Euro-Mediterranean business organisations led by ANIMA Investment Network launched today “Invest in Med”, a 12 million EUR project – co-financed by the European Commission – aiming at encouraging European investments in the Mediterranean region and developing solid links between Med companies and their European counterparts.

Invest in Med a 12 MLN euros project co-financed by the European Comission, was launched by the euro-mediterranean consortium leded by ANIMA Investment Network.

Economic cooperation between the EU and the Mediterranean countries has figured on the partnership agenda for years. Subsequent to the launch of the Neighbourhood Investment Facility, the Commission and the MED-partners have set up Invest in Med, a regional Programme to foster investments and business cooperation. With € 12 million available for the coming three years, this initiative should boost investments in the southern region.
