Meeting between agrifood clusters: towards a fruitful cooperation
The European Fruit and Vegetable Innovation Cluster (PEIFL), based in Avignon (France), has submitted to the Bizerte Cluster (Tunisia) a cooperation proposal that will give access to the technology monitoring system developed by the PEIFL. This collaboration offer has been made as a follow up to the meeting organised between three Mediterranean agrifood clusters, in the framework of the Invest in Med “Tech Fruits & vegetables” initiative, led by the Italian Chamber of Commerce for France in Marseille. |

A unique chance to participate in the WATEC fair!
Israel, Italy, Egypt, Morocco and Catalonia are cooperating in a unique initiative to promote the use of water and environmental technologies in the Mediterranean. The partners are now working on the organization of a business to business event during WATEC 2009 (Tel Aviv, from 17 to 19/11/09). MED ZONES : new partners onboard
New partners, the Bouches-du-Rhône Conseil general (department council) and the private company EDF (French Company of Electricity) have now joined the MedZones project managed by the Chamber of Commerce Marseille Provence. MedZones targets the creation of a reference guide and the creation of a network of key players, sharing good practices in terms of sustainable planning of specific activity zones in the Mediterranean. A first workshop will be held mid-November 2009 and the first best practices study on industrial parks will be launched in Bizerte, Zarzis , Elgazala in Tunisia, Bouskoura and Ouled Salah in Morocco. Paper Med kick off meeting during the MIAC 2009
Lucca Promos will organise on 16th October 2009 the kick off meeting of the initiative Paper Med, within the International Exhibition of Paper Industry - MIAC - . The meeting will give the occasion to the entrepreneurs of this sector to know more about the opportunities and request for partnerships of the paper industry production in the MED partners countries. The Invest in Med programme aims at developing sustainable trade relationships, investments and enterprise partnerships between the two rims of the Mediterranean. Funded at 75% by the European Union over the 2008-2011 period, it is implemented by the MedAlliance consortium, which associates economic development organisations (ANIMA, leader of the programme), CCIs (ASCAME, EUROCHAMBRES), and business federations (BUSINESSMED). The members of these networks, as well as their special partners (UNIDO, GTZ, EPA Euroméditerranée, World Bank, etc.), gather a thousand of economic actors - mobilised through pilot initiatives centered on key Mediterranean promising niches. Each year, a hundred operations associate the 27 countries of the European Union and 9 Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia. www.invest-in-med.eu |
